Coupler vault pro hitch lock is heavy, in a good way, and is very heavy duty. We bought this to help reduce the possible theft of our travel trailer. The metal is very thick. Some parts being 1/4 " and others at 3/16". I went with this after seeing how easy it was to defeat the less expensive alternatives. I'm very happy with this hitch lock. Some complain about the lock being on the underside. I see it as a little protection against the elements. The question is how much is the prevention of theft of your trailer worth to you? This is more piece of mind for me.
