So, I have been using this lock for several months now. I am really disappointed in it. There are some redeeming qualities that earned it an additional star from me. However, I do not feel that the security of the condo is truly there. First, the little things. When both myself and my partner are standing at the door waiting for the lock to unlock, it takes forever. It it truly easier to just use a key. Half of the time we have to pull out one of our phones to manually unlock the door, which leads me to my next complaint. The app is agonizingly slow to select the one lock that we have on our condo. The app is set up so assuming that you have several locks in one house, with maybe an additional property with different locks. It does not take into account people who have a condo in a building that has one door. When I approach my door, and get tired of waiting for the auto-unlock, there is a very cumbersome and lengthy process of drilling down on your house, then onto the lock you have. I noticed one day that there was a shortcut on the lock screen that appeared to be set up to lock, or unlock the door. However, it is only a link that redirects you back to the app, making you go through the entire process. Very irritating when you have your hands full of packages, or walking your dogs. The real issue that I have is that we had to disable the auto-unlock function. For a few nights in a row, we were in bed and clearly heard the lock unlock, then re-lock, then unlock, then re-lock. We both felt that we could never be certain that the door was locked when we are away. That issue defeats the main reason that I installed the lock to begin with. I wanted to be able to approach the door and have it unlocked when I got there. All of this may be due to the fact that we live on the 22nd floor and one of our phones might have pinged off of a different cell tower leading the lock to think that we had left and come back. However, I just do not trust the thing. It may be a completely different story were we still in our house on the ground. The one true redeeming quality of the the mechanism is that it is exceedingly ergonomic. I think that my mother would be able to lock and unlock the door with ease due to the size of the mechanism that locks and unlocks the door.I might reconsider this lock in the future with some significant hardware and software upgrades. However, right now I do not feel safe with the auto-unlock functionality.Good concept but its just ok. We installed at a retail location so we did not have to have the locked changed overtime an employee with a key was let go or left. All in all the lock with August Connect remote access works as expected. Our issue is that customers seem to think that have to turn this large knob to open the door and often lock the door and then get confused. The door has push plates on it but MANY get confused and this is very frustrating to the staff. I like it because we have some sort of access control and alerts as to when the doors are opened and locked. We wish there was a sensor that would come with it that would ensure the door was actually closed. In the end we would go back to the Schlage / Nexia System because of the extra sensors that can be added, number pad so it can be unlocked without a key or phone despite the monthly fee which we were trying to avoid with this lock.---- UPDATE ----After having this product for a year we are ready to replace it. The unit is less than reliable. We often have to wait minutes for the lock to connect via BT. We also have the August connect module it is is useless. We have to constantly reset and reconnect to our network. The other big minus is that people see the lock and what to use is as a door push. The causes the battery cover and or lock to constantly fall off. We had to use zip ties around the lock latches that connect it to the door plate to keep the lock in place. For this kind of money August should be giving us a refund. Simply put the lock is useless over the long run.If you care at all about having your house locked, do not buy this product. It works maybe 20% of the time, and even then, only sort of. And when it fails, it fails hard. Let me paint you a picture of how it works. You're headed out for a few hours. You pull out your phone and lock your door. Oh, this product claims it has an auto lock feature. Bad news: if you have any resistance in your lock (for example, you've got some weather stripping on the door) it just gives up. So instead, you hold it just right and tell it to lock. Eh, that's as annoying as a key.You head back home. You've got about a 1 in 5 shot of the door unlocking. When that happens, it's awesome! Cap'n Kirk would be proud of the technology. But... the other 80% of the time, you walk to the door and sit there, hoping. About half the time from there, if you wait long enough, the door will unlock, but that's really annoying. So you pull out your phone and unlock it. You can either manually lock it or use the phone again once you're inside, but I've got more bad news for you: your door is about to be unlocked again. Ya, turns out, 4 out of 5 times, sometime in the future it is going to succeed on that unlock request... usually once you're already inside you've walked away to put away your groceries.Pretty terrible. This is the sort of project that engineers build but never use. Lots of little annoyances. When you fire up the app, you have to pick which lock to play with. Oh, you've only got one and you're standing right next to it? Pick it off the list of 1. Sigh. But like I say, the 20% of the time it does half of its job... it's really cool. If you're willing to pay the safety, annoyance and failure tax, it almost seems... well, I wouldn't buy this again. Would be great, if we could have a beep on our phone, knowing that the door has been locked. Works well, l but not satisfied by the time it takes to unlock the door. It should unlocked, when we are close to the doorFonctionne 50% du temps pour l'ouverture de la porte zone mon arrivéeaun no la pruebo pero se ve que esta super bien el producto y combinados con los otros se ve que es una maravilla
